"HSM3" star Matt Prokop joins the "Modern Family" cast on Maui
For those who haven’t seen “Modern Family,” the sitcom stars Ed “Al Bundy” O’Neill as patriarch Jay Pritchett. His much younger and hotter Colombian wife, Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, is played by very beautiful Sofia Vergara, according to the ABC website.
The show is produced by Steve Levitan (“Just Shoot Me”) and Christopher Lloyd (“Fraiser”).
I’m not certain, but I believe they shot a two-part season finale. Most of the show was filmed at the Four Seasons in Wailea. Shooting has wrapped and most of the cast has left the island.
In addition to the cast and crew of the television show, the “Modern Family” entourage included Matt Prokop who stared in “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” with Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
Prokop, a native of Victoria, TX, apparently is dating “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland.
From the looks of his resumé, Prokop seems more of an actor than a musical performer. He has stared in episodes of “The Office” and “Medium,” in addition to his scene-stealing part in “HSM3.” He also is scheduled to appear in the upcoming film “Furry Vengeance,” which stars Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields, according to IMDB.com.
I know not all of us are parents of a 9-year-old girl, nor do we all go see the “High School Musical” movies the day they come out, but some of us do. And when “HSM3” was released, I was quick to notice that one of the movie’s highlights was Prokop’s portrayal of Jimmy Zara.
Let’s hope his rumored appearance in “High School Musical 4,” which may be a television release, comes to fruition. Fans of the “HSM” series would certainly love another look at Jimmy Zara.
Prokop and the “Modern Family” cast and crew shared much of their Maui trip via Twitter posts. From the looks of things, they all loved being on our island and were able to mix a little vacation time in with the work.
Thanks to the executives who decided that Maui would be perfect for a location shoot. We love it here and are glad you love it too.
